Individuals with autism tend to be diverse. Therefore, it is difficult to use words such as all or none when describing this group.
Family Programs offers Financial Assistance for families towards the cost of our Fall, Winter, Easter day camp & Summer day camp programs.
Please read through the following before applying:
Financial Assistance Applications will launch 3 times a year:
- July = ALL interested families need to apply in order to access Financial Assistance for our upcoming Fall 2023 program session
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN FROM: WED, JULY 19 – MON, JULY 31, 2023
- November = Open for NEW families to apply for our upcoming Winter 2024 program session Note: If you already applied & were approved for Fall 2023, you DO NOT need to apply
- April = Open for NEW families to apply for our upcoming Summer 2024 program session
Note: If you already applied & were approved for Fall 2023 or Winter 2024, you DO NOT need to apply again.
3 Types of Financial Assistance available to apply for (choose one only):
Type 1: As a single parent/guardian household
Type 2: As a double parent/guardian household
Type 3: As an individual participant wanting to register into Family Programs
These are our 2 options for how to apply & details on how we determine who is eligible when applying:
Applying with Option 1:
You ARE currently receiving Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS) or Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID):
You are asked to provide us with financial documentation of your current SIS or SAID statement confirming you are receiving it. (“Notice of Benefit Deposit” document)
If your application is approved through Option 1:
You will be automatically approved at 90% coverage of total program fees for our upcoming Fall & Winter session and Day Camps. (NEW: Parents pay 10% of total cost) Payment will be required online at the time of registration and may be made by Visa, MasterCard or Bank Account info.
Note: If you receive Individualized Funding from the Government of Saskatchewan, you may use those funds towards our Family Program fees.
Applying with Option 2:
You are NOT currently receiving Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS) or Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) but still wish to apply for Financial Assistance:
- We ask you if you are currently receiving Individualized Funding from the Government of Saskatchewan.
- We ask you if you are currently approved for CDS (Cognitive Disability Strategy) funding for our day
- We request current Financial Documentation (Note: Required from both parents if double parent household):
- If Employed: 2 most recent copies of your paystubs from employer
- If self-employed, a summary of Income verification for Jan – Jun 2023 with details on July-Dec 2023 projection & a copy of your 2022 Notice of Assessment from the Government (We look at line 260 – Taxable Income)
- If Unemployed: Provide us with details of your current situation and how you are able to financially support your family at this time. Also, please include details if you are receiving EI, CPP, etc.
- We ask you for the total # of individuals living in your households (This count should include yourself, partner and children, etc)
- We then take your Income Summary provided to us from your Financial Documentation provided and apply it against the current LICO
*Before you apply, please review the LICO Table (following) to assess if you would qualify or not.
**Special circumstances may be considered at the digression of the Director or Coordinator of Family Programs
If your application is approved through Option 2, here is what you can expect for coverage:
- If you are receiving Individualized Funding, you will receive 50% coverage of total program fees for our Fall & Winter sessions and Day Camps. (Parents pay 50% of total cost)
Note: Financial Assistance coverage will not be available towards our day camp fees if you are approved for funding for them through CDS.
- If you are NOT receiving Individualized Funding, you will receive 80% coverage of the total program fees for our Fall & Winter sessions. (Parents pay 20% of total cost) For any day camps, you will receive 90% coverage of the total program fee. (Parents pay 10% of total cost)
Total # of Programs each Participant is eligible to register into annually:
- Fall = 2 programs maximum
- Winter = 2 programs maximum
- Day Camps = 1 Easter Day Camp & 1 week of Summer Day Camp maximum
Be prepared before you register! Please read through all Information as you will need to have your Financial Documentation ready to upload at the time of registration.
You will need to provide us with Financial Documentation for one of the following:
- If receiving assistance, a copy of your SIS/SAID document
- If working, 2 most recent paystubs from employer
- If self-employed, a summary of Income verification for Jan – Jun 2023 with details on July-Dec 2023 projection & a copy of your 2022 Notice of Assessment from the Government (We look at line 260 – Taxable Income)
- If not working, provide us with details of your current situation and how you are able to financially support your family at this time. Also, please include details if you are receiving EI, CPP, etc.
Important to Note:
Only register for ONE type of Financial Assistance (Single, Double or Individual)
During registration, Amilia will ask you to ‘Select participants to register’. Please select ONLY YOUR NAME from the list because you are the one applying for Financial Assistance, not your child.
