Approximately 50% of all savants have autism, while only about five to ten percent of individuals with autism possess extraordinary savant skills.
FAMILY PROGRAM POLICIES
- There will be no make-up sessions or refunds offered for missed program classes during the program session.
- You will be ineligible to register for any future programs with us if there is an outstanding balance on your account owed to Autism Services. All outstanding balances must be paid in full prior to registering.
- All program registration is completed through our online platform called Amilia. Parents/Guardians will be responsible to set up your family account in order to be eligible to register for future programming with us.
- A form of payment is required upon registering for any programs so please be prepared to pay by Visa, MasterCard or bank account (Transit #, Institution # & Account # required). *Note: If you choose to pay by bank account, and your payment does not go through due to NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds), you will be responsible to pay an NSF fee to Autism Services in the amount of $10 as well as any NSF fees your bank may charge you directly. Autism Services will not cover the cost of any NSF fees incurred.
- All programs have limited space. They will fill up fast. If a program is full, we encourage you to join our wait list. If you are on our wait list and a spot becomes available, we will contact you directly.
- All program refund requests must be emailed to us and will be assessed on a case by case basis. Please carefully read through our refund policy below.
- Parents/Guardians: If you are off site while your child is attending an Autism Services Family Program, we ask that you are available to be reached by phone during program hours. If you will be unavailable, you must provide us with an alternate emergency contact.
- Participants: Autism Services promotes an inclusive environment with safety being our number one priority. Bullying, swearing and taunting will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the program at the Program Director’s discretion.
- Please read the following to ensure the safety of all of our staff and participants during our programs:
• While attending an Autism Services Family Program, participants are prohibited from purchasing, being under the influence of, using, possessing, selling or otherwise being involved with illegal drugs, alcohol or the use of other controlled substances. Violation of this policy will result in the On-Site Coordinator contacting the participant’s parent/guardian immediately and requesting that they are picked up from the program site.
• A follow up meeting will be scheduled involving the Director and/or Coordinator of Family Programs, the participant and their parent/guardian to discuss the incident and whether or not the participant is welcome to continue attending the program for the duration of the session.
REFUNDS
- A cancellation request made a minimum of 14 days before the program start date will receive a full refund.
- A cancellation request made within 13 days leading up to the program start date will receive a full refund less a $30 Cancellation Fee.
- Program fees are non-refundable once the program starts.
LATE REGISTRATION
- Late registration is accepted up to the second class of the session.
- There are no discounts in program fees for late registrations.
MISSED CLASSES
There are no discounts, refunds or make up classes for any of the following reasons but not limited to:
- Illness, quarantine, health order restrictions or removal of restrictions
- Voluntary absence (Vacations, etc.)
- Power outage, unsafe weather conditions or poor air quality
- Facility maintenance
- Scheduled breaks (Stat holidays/long weekends
