Individually designed programs best meet the needs of a person with autism. Those with autism should be learning, living and working in settings where there is ample opportunity to communicate and interact with others who have the skills they lack.
Mental Health & Wellness Team (MHWT)
This month, we happily welcomed Juliane Hydamaka, Mental Health Counsellor, to our Mental Health and Wellness Team. Our PERMA self-care group for parents began this month and is off to a great start. We offered another ASD Information Session to our members this month – it was wonderful to have autistic adults join the session and to hear about their experiences of being on the spectrum. We are continuing to connect with new clients who were recently referred to the Mental Health and Wellness Team for mental health support, advocacy support and help with navigating funding options. Our PEERS social skills group begins this month and we are very excited to meet all of the group participants.
