Individually designed programs best meet the needs of a person with autism. Those with autism should be learning, living and working in settings where there is ample opportunity to communicate and interact with others who have the skills they lack.
Mental Health & Wellness Team (MHWT)
The MHWT is continuing to offer individual counselling support, community referrals and funding support both virtually and in-person. We recently had the opportunity to offer virtual ASD Educational Training for several community organizations. This month, the PEERS social skills program for young adults will be wrapping-up their virtual group sessions together. The group is looking forward to spending the last session in-person, with pizza and video games.
The Autism Services – Autistic Adult Peer Group has launched on Facebook this month. At Autism Services we recognize many of our adult autistic clients want to build social connections. We are excited to provide a Facebook group to facilitate this peer connection. This is a private group for any of our adult autistic members who wish to connect with other adults of all ages to chat and share media, share interests, and discuss autism topics. We invite you to join the Facebook group if you are interested! (you can find more information HERE)
