Autism is not caused by a lack of love, and it is not cured by punishment. Parents need support to manage difficult behaviours with structure and consistency.
This month our Family Programs department is focusing on Leadership Development. Megan is currently enrolled in the Leadership Saskatoon Program. She had the following to say about the program:
“I have had the privilege of attending a 10-month leadership development program through Leadership Saskatoon. We get to meet up once a month for Challenge Days with our cohort and are presented with different monthly learning topics. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know my peers and networking, exploring my team project and being able to further develop my personal leadership skill set. I look forward to test and practice what I learn through out the remainder of the program!”
Alex is also readying himself for a 5-day Leadership Development Program through the Edwards School of Business this March/April. His statement is as follows:
“I consider Leadership Training to be one of the most crucial aspects of a management position. For some, leadership comes naturally, for others it requires more of an in-depth look at one self. But the beauty of leadership is that it is versatile, subjective and always evolving. I look forward to honing my skills further!”
