Individuals with autism tend to be diverse. Therefore, it is difficult to use words such as all or none when describing this group.
Family Programs
The Family Programs successfully resumed the operations this year offering 14 seasonal programs. Some of the programs offered include music therapy, gymnastics, bowling, strength training, and swimming as well as social programs to promote friendship building and social opportunities. The programs provided “real-world” experience for autistic children, youth and adults.
We also offered the annual events: Sensitive Santa – hosted at Lawson Heights Mall and at Midtown Plaza. Sensitive Santa allows kids on the spectrum to see Santa in a quieter, after hours environment, and Skating with Santa. In October we launched the Sponsor-a-Child Campaign and it was an success! We raised $18,956, thank you to everyone who supported us!
We look forward to another fresh start in January of 2023!
