One out of every 166 school aged children in Saskatchewan has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Family Programs
We’ve added a new, temporary member to the Family Programs’ team: Keegan Kjargaard, Assistant Family Programs Coordinator. Here’s Keegan’s impressions of his first weeks with us:
“I have really enjoyed my time at Autism Services. Working in the office has given me a new perspective on all the background work that goes into organizing and planning Family Programs. Last week, I had the opportunity to visit some Family Programs in person. It was very exciting to see the participants and staff engage in activities together. Getting to see the planning in action is very rewarding and I look forward to what’s in store for the future.”
In other news, our Olympic Weightlifting program that begin in the Fall has been a great success! We’ll be continuing the program into the Spring and have added 6 new participants to the program. Additionally, our Family Music Therapy families are coming for a Spring music therapy session. This program was cancelled earlier this year and we’re happy to be able to provide this to the families who originally registered.
There’s always something new in Family Programs so stay tuned for more updates!
