People do not grow out of autism. Autism is a lifelong disorder; however, the manifestation of symptoms may change over time. While there is yet no known cure, autism is definitely treatable.
Celebrate Autism!
Meet Michael! He is an active, physical boy. His parents use the phrase “constant movement” – he’s climbing, jumping, or moving in some other kind of way much of the time. Michael likes to travel, and he likes trains. With all this activity, it’s no wonder Michael participates in a number of our programs (like swimming, gymnastics, and summer day camp). He’s also part of our Autism Intervention Program (AIP).
Our programs are an important part of Michael’s life and have made a world of difference. Compared with community-based programming, here he is able to participate more, the programming is more flexible, he is with his peers with similar skills which makes it more comfortable, and he has one-on-one support. We’re very happy to support Michael and love having him part of our Autism Services’ family!
