While there is no one known cause for autism, it is known the disorder is not caused by poor parenting.
Celebrate Autism!
We would like to introduce you to Karl! Karl lives in our Supported Independent Living Program. He enjoys going for walks, spending time with his family, sewing, and attending Autism Services Adult Social Club. Karl really values his independence and likes to cook from scratch, but also likes it when staff cook for him 😊. When we asked Karl what he enjoys about having staff there to assist him, he said that he has learned to manage his anxiety and OCD better with the staff’s help – “It is hard to do it by yourself”. Adult Support Program staff feel fortunate to support Karl when he needs it!
