Autism is not caused by a lack of love, and it is not cured by punishment. Parents need support to manage difficult behaviours with structure and consistency.
Autism Intervention Program (AIP)
The Autism Intervention Program (AIP) provides a variety of interventions and support services in collaboration with the family. Services are provided to children and youth up to 19 years of age and their families. Children and youth, and their families, can access our services if they are diagnosed with autism and also while they are on a waitlist to receive an autism diagnosis.
In 2022, the AIP provided education, advocacy, and services to improve the quality of life of over 600 individuals with an autism spectrum disorder and their families. Some of our group programs and workshops this year included: Integrated Play Group, Circle of Friends, New Teen Network Club, Young Adult Society, More Than Words, Parent Management Training, Feeding Challenges and ASD workshop and Colours of Coregulation. We continue to listen to our clients and develop more opportunities for connection and support, and look forward to the coming New Year!”
