Individually designed programs best meet the needs of a person with autism. Those with autism should be learning, living and working in settings where there is ample opportunity to communicate and interact with others who have the skills they lack.
The Family Programs department offers a variety of programs aimed at providing individuals the opportunity to participate in recreational activities and therapeutic programs.
Programs are offered in session blocks three times a year. Some of our programs offered include music and art therapy, gymnastics, dance, strength training, and swimming as well as social programs to promote friendship building and social opportunities.
Our Family Programs provide “real-world” experience for autistic children and youth to build social skills and develop peer relationships. Our participants are provided additional staff support to help them learn to navigate and succeed in settings that could be challenging for them. This, in turn, builds their confidence and capacity so they can grow and thrive in a supported environment.
Everyone is required to go through our Agency Intake Process in order to access our Family Programs. Additionally, everyone must set up an account with our online Amilia system to register for programs (you will receive instructions regarding Amilia once you have gone through our Agency Intake Process).
