THE ORGANIZATION

WHO WE ARE

  • a non-profit, charitable organization in existence since 1979

  • operated by a 12 member volunteer Board of Directors elected by a membership body

  • started as a parent support group, and has evolved into a program delivery agent

  • receives funding from the provincial government as a non-government agency to operate two group homes, as well as financial support from the Saskatoon  Health Region for the delivery of home-based services for children

  • the majority of funding for the delivery of specialized programs and services is received through memberships, donations and fundraising initiative.

Autism Services, formerly Autism Treatment Services of Saskatchewan Inc. and The Saskatoon Society for Autism, is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to provide to individuals with an autism spectrum disorder and their families quality programming, education, advocacy and support services.

 

In addition, Autism Services promotes awareness about autism and advocates for individuals with autism and/or related pervasive developmental disorders.

 

The organization's services include: consultative and educational support for parents, children's recreational programs,  social and recreational clubs for children, teens and adults, a resource centre, respite programs, and currently two residential homes for young adults and adults with autism.

 

Autism Services is committed to protecting the personal information relating to clients, residents, members, donors, volunteers, customers, staff and other individuals about or from whom we collect personal information. At Autism Services we strive to embrace best practices and therefore are following the CSA Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information.

PURPOSE

To continue to improve the quality of living for all individuals with autism and their families.

MISSION STATEMENT

Autism Services is a not for profit, Saskatoon-based charitable organization, dedicated to providing education, advocacy and services to improve the quality of life of individuals with an autism spectrum disorder and their families. We are committed to assisting those living with an autism spectrum disorder realize their full potential.

OBJECTIVES

To develop and improve services for individuals with autism and their families.

To provide support to families.

To promote public awareness and education of autism.
