We Could Use a Little Help:

Parents of Children with ASD looking for Respite Support

TAKE ACTION – Respite Services for Families

Caring for a child with autism can be very rewarding but is also a twenty - four hour a day job for families.  The Community Living Division’s (Department of Social Services) Respite Program is designed to provide families with additional financial resources to hire someone to care for their child while they take a much needed break.  At the present time, the structure and operation of the existing Respite Program serves to exclude, or severely limit the access to services of many families who have a child with ASD.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

The voice of families can be very powerful.  We know that your time and energy are precious so we have provided you with discussion points and a sample letter to help you get started.

Please assist Autism Services in advocate for changes to the existing Respite Program.
